  3. DATE [format | date]

  5.   format   is a string which specifies order and number of digits
  6.            of year, month, and day. It also specifies the separators
  7.            to be used (eg. YYY-MM-DD).

  9.   date     is the date which the user wants to become the current date.
  10.            It is specified in the current format.
  11.  
  12. Without parameter, DATE displays the current date and asks for the new
  13. date/format. The user must reply with a RETURN in order to leave both
  14. date and format unchanged.
